Trevor  Griffey

I am the Co-Founder and Project Coordinator for the Seattle Civil Rights and Labor History Project at the University of Washington.

I am also a former alternative journalist, and created an online only news site called the Olympia Newswire to cover statehouse politics in Washington state during the 2010 legislative session. I received a $25,000 grant to keep the site going from the Institute for Interactive Journalism, but returned the grant because its conditions would have required that I quit my PhD program.

I am currently creating a digital archive of U.S. government intelligence documents about the black freedom movement from the 1940s-70s, which will be called the FBI & Civil Rights History Project. I hope to launch it in time for Black History Month, 2013.
