Hi, I'm a PhD candidate in Latin American History at the University of Chicago, where I also keep myself entertained as a flutist and flamenco dancer. My research interests lie at the intersection of the histories of cities, policymaking, gender, and the arts. I'm also excited by the practice and theory of digital humanities (no surprise there). Both my artistic and academic interests managed to weasel their way into my dissertation project, “Forging an Urban Public: Theaters, Audiences, and the City in São Paulo, Brazil, 1854-1930.”
